Gwen started dancing at the age of 3 taking community ballet classes until she moved to Kirkwood Academy at the age of 6. She later moved to Northwest Academy of Performing Arts (NAPA) where she began to take jazz, acro, lyrical, musical theatre, tap, and contemporary along with RAD ballet classes and examinations. At age 10, Gwen began performing with the Royal City Youth Ballet company (RCYB) dancing in their productions across the lower mainland.  At the age of 14, Gwen began assisting in classes with NAPA and RCYB, allowing her to learn to work with younger students and help them grow their dance skills. Gwen has been volunteering in the Performing Arts Department at New Westminster Secondary School since 2017, helping to choreograph and perform pieces, as well as volunteering in the Musical Theatre Fundamentals classes as a choreography advisor. Gwen will be attending the University of Victoria for a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with a minor in French to become a secondary school science teacher. Gwen can’t wait to make more memories and work with more young students, helping them to develop their performing and interpersonal skills.
